We are delighted to have won Security Project of the Year at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2024. It is the second consecutive year that we have won this award, following our victory last year that recognised our work with ZSL London Zoo.

This year’s award celebrates our partnership with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). We have collaborated to enhance safety on public transport through the Bee Network initiative, which saw buses brought back under local control.

Our award-winning project involved recruiting and deploying TravelSafe Support and Enforcement Officers (TSEOs) to patrol bus routes across Greater Manchester. The TSEOs play a critical role in tackling anti-social behaviour, deterring fare evasion, and addressing safeguarding concerns.

Their specialised training, which includes conflict resolution and support for vulnerable individuals, ensures they meet the unique challenges of public transport security. Within the first 100 days of operation, the TSEOs had already attended nearly 1,000 incidents, demonstrating their significant impact on passenger safety and public confidence.

The Bee Network project aligns with Greater Manchester’s broader goals of enhancing public transport safety and accessibility while reducing crime. Following the initial success, the initiative has expanded, doubling the number of TSEOs to ensure even greater coverage and impact.

Kieran Mackie, our managing director, said: “Winning this award is a proud moment for Amulet and highlights the importance of innovative and empathetic approaches to public safety. Our partnership with TfGM has shown how collaborative efforts and well-trained officers can make a real difference in communities. We remain committed to providing transformative security solutions that help our customers thrive.”

The Security and Fire Excellence Awards recognise excellence, innovation, and outstanding achievements across the security and fire safety industries.
